SLP & OT (Early Intervention), Bilingual (Spanish or Chinese)

WORLD OF WORDS (WOW) EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES is looking for speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists to join our early intervention team. Both part-time and full-time positions are available, and CF-SLP supervision is available. WOW provides early intervention services in the counties of San Francisco and San Mateo. This position has a flexible schedule, and each therapist is able to choose the cities and/or counties where they can provide services. WOW therapists work with young children (under 3 years of age) and their parents/caregivers, providing speech/language therapy or occupational therapy services in the child's primary language.

The SLP position may include providing group therapy (during child-parent classes in San Francisco) and providing individual therapy (in the child's home, daycare, or preschool in San Francisco and/or San Mateo Counties).

The OT position includes providing individual therapy in the child's home, preschool, or daycare (in San Francisco and/or San Mateo Counties), as well as providing OT consultations (during individual therapy) for our early interventionists.

Job description:
* Provide early intervention, speech/language, or occupational therapy services in the child's natural environment (home, daycare, preschool, community, etc.)
* Target specific communication or motor goals as outlined in the child's Individual Family Services Plan
* Demonstrate developmentally appropriate activities for the parent/caregiver
* Demonstrate the use of developmentally appropriate materials
* Provide parent/caregiver training in the use of play as a tool for intervention
* Provide parent/caregiver training in developmentally appropriate activities
* Provide parent/caregiver training on how to target speech/language or motor development in various day-to-day activities
* Conduct assessment in the area of communication or motor development, using both informal (e.g., clinical observation) and formal (e.g., Rossetti, Bayley, REEL, PLS, DAYC) assessment tools
* Monitor the child's progress on his/her IFSP goals

Job qualifications:

*Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese language skills
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy
* Valid license from the Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology or Occupational Therapy Board of California
* Experience working with young children preferred
* Experience working with families and/or daycare providers preferred
* Experience providing parent/caregiver training preferred


Other job requirements:
* Must possess or be able to obtain Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance
* Must possess or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
* Must have valid CA Driver's License and reliable transportation

 Bilingual (Spanish or Chinese) Early Interventionist

WORLD OF WORDS (WOW) EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES is looking for bilingual (Spanish or Chinese) early interventionists to join our team. The positions will be part-time, with the possibility of becoming full-time (depending on the number of referrals and the needs/wants of each interventionist). WOW currently provides early intervention services in the counties of San Francisco and San Mateo, as well as at the Play On Words Early Learning Center in San Francisco and our  new center in South San Francisco. This position has a flexible schedule, and each interventionist is able to choose the cities and/or counties where they can provide services. WOW early interventionists work with young children (under 3 years of age) and their parents/caregivers.

Job qualifications:
* Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese (Cantonese) language skills
* Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education or related field or Bachelor's degree with Early Intervention certificate (or ability to obtain certification)
* One of the following: California Education Specialist Credential, Added Authorization in Early Childhood Special Education granted by CCTC, or a California University Certificate in Early Intervention (or ability to take coursework to obtain one of the certifications)
* Experience working with young children preferred
* Experience working with families and/or parents preferred

Job description:
* Provide early intervention services in the child's natural environment (home, daycare, learning center, etc.)
* Target all areas of development (e.g., physical, cognitive, speech/language, social-emotional, self-help/feeding) as needed, based on the child's individual needs
* Demonstrate developmentally appropriate activities for the parent/caregiver
* Demonstrate the use of developmentally appropriate materials
* Provide parent/caregiver training in the use of play as a tool for intervention
* Provide parent/caregiver training in developmentally appropriate activities
* Provide parent/caregiver training on how to target different areas of development in various day-to-day activities
* Develop treatment plan, with awareness of anticipated outcomes for each activity and providing direct time on goals/objectives for each session
* Conduct assessment in all areas of development, using both informal (e.g., observation) and formal (e.g., DAYC-2) assessment tools
* Monitor the child's progress in all areas of development
* Consult with specialists as needed, based on the child's individual needs
* Participate in staff training
